In my role as Senior Staff Product Designer I'm working cross-organizationally on company priorities and complex architectural problems. As such, my primary focus has been the products app architecture ever since I joined the company in early 2021.
As of 2022, my focus areas have mostly been anchored around Coinbase's Web3 efforts — from launching our multi-party computation wallet within our main Coinbase app as well as supporting our self-custodial product Coinbase Wallet.

As a senior designer and design lead I worked closely with cross-functional partners to drive the strategy and vision for my team, pushing the quality of our product experiences and providing mentorship to other designers and key partners.
In the past 3 years I helped launch Facebook News and worked closely with publishers on Instant Articles and breaking news experiences in News Feed. I also led a group of passionate designers across the company contributing to Facebook.Design.

During my time in London I worked on Facebook’s ads and business products for emerging markets, which helped small local businesses thrive and global companies reach new audiences. I further helped the office’s design team grow from 5 to more than 40 people.

Following an internship in 2012, I continued working at Edenspiekermann as a freelancer and eventually joined full-time in October 2013. As part of an integrated agile team, I worked on mobile apps and websites — from concept level to design execution. During this time I led the visual design for FontShop’s major redesign.

In early 2012 I started freelancing for a number of startups and music artists. During this time I led the development of the world's first Bitcoin ATM's user interface and supported New York startup Roomi in building their first iOS app and their brand ahead of their initial seed funding.

In 2009 I moved to Berlin to study communication design with a strong focus on digital products, branding and typography. For my thesis I created a time tracking product based on the ideology and methods of a "lean startup” and validated the product and the market in a real situation.
As you'd expect, the launch of Facebook News was widely featured in all mainstream media. Following are examples from The New York Times, The Atlantic and The Verge. For more, check out the full case study here.
FontShop's relaunch was awarded with the Certificate of Typographic Excellence by the Type Directors Club in 2014, won the Gold award at the European Design Awards and was nominated for the much acclaimed Net Awards alongside the White House, Airbnb and the Guardian in the category "Redesign of the Year". Read more about the project here.
Through my time at Facebook I further have numerous pending utility and design patents for systems, methods and designs for presenting news content in a social networking interface.
As a product designer I’ve been focusing on building products that solve real problems for millions of people globally for the majority of the last decade. As a result, I’ve designed experiences that people enjoy and that drove meaningful business outcomes.
I’m personally striving to increase the craft and quality bar of the teams and companies I’m working with. My logical nature help make me a strong systems thinker and build trusted partnerships between design and engineering teams. I further foster collaborative environments and enjoy bringing clarity and simplicity to seemingly complex matters.
In addition to my product work, I’m trying to do my part in building strong team cultures everywhere I go. As such, I get to live out the graphic designer in me through the creation of strong identities that my co-workers can identify with as well as the supply of assets and templates that boost people’s creativity, productivity and their work’s quality.
